Ananda Marga Yoga Course in Helsinki & Espoo

The Wisdom of Yoga
Yoga is an ancient system of techniques for all-round health and well being of the individual. These techniques have been tested and refined over thousands of years, and are available to anyone willing to learn them. The scientific and easy-to-learn exercises provide a practical, natural and holistic way to achieve health and vitality. Yoga is not a religion. Anyone from any faith can practice the techniques.
Stress Relief
Today's life is full of stress. Although we have reached a high level of increasing tension and fatigue. Despite our modern achievements, many people feel restless and unhappy, because life is not in balance any more. Environmental stress and bad personal habits also add to this strain. All this results in various physical and mental diseases such as depression, high blood pressure, heart disease and even cancer.
Finding a Balance
Yoga offers a simple and practical solution to these problems and helps us to find a balance in our life. It enables us to deal effectively with the many challenges we constantly face, and to achieve the inner strength, success and happiness we all desire.
Asanas and More
People tend to think of Yoga as complicated stretching exercises. Yet the most helpful of these exercises, also called asanas, are not very difficult to practice. It only takes a little time to develop the flexibility of our joints. More importantly, asanas also work on a deeper level: by subtle pressure on the glands of our body, they balance our hormones. Hormones play a key role in our overall health and well-being. Almost all physical and mental diseases can be linked to an imbalance in the glands of our body.
Meditation
There is more to Yoga than asanas. Meditation is a systematic and scientific way to gently focus the mind. The body's response to meditation is just the opposite of its reaction to stress. Meditation calms the central nervous system as well as our breathing, heart rate and blood pressure. The regular practice of meditation broadens the scope of your mind, helping you to develop a keener sense of intuition and a deeper understanding of yourself and the world around you. People who meditate typically experience a state of deep inner peace and harmony, which in turn leads to more intense and lasting feelings of happiness and fulfilment.

About

Ananda Marga is a global socio-spiritual organization with branches in over 160 countries representing every continent. It has a broad agenda which includes teaching yoga and meditation, performing social service, blending spirituality with art, initiating musical and meditation festivals, bridging intellectual pursuit with spiritual pursuit and introducing a new framework for world economic balance. It is one of the few global organizations of Third World origin to render voluntary social service and disaster relief, and in its short history it has developed a vast network of dedicated volunteers throughout the world.
Ananda Marga was founded in India in 1955 by Shrii Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar (1921-1990). His contribution to society was a comprehensive spiritual philosophy that broadened humanity's awareness of the nature of our existence and encouraged people to embrace all as a part of one universal family. Based on this vision, he propounded a unique social philosophy, far more comprehensive than current social, economic and political paradigms, addressing world problems and providing practical solutions.
Ananda Marga's social programs include disaster relief worldwide, inexpensive or free. Ananda Marga is a moral and spiritual movement dedicated to the all-round upliftment of the human condition --physical, mental and spiritual. Its missionary workers render full-time social service and are trained to teach meditation, free of charge.
Ananda Marga has been in Finland since1973. Besides conducting yoga classes and seminars, we also organise social service programs and we have regular meditation sessions.
